I came to faith in Christ as a teenager. When I was 17, I felt God’s call on my life to enter ministry. I recently (May 2020) graduated from Nazarene Bible College with a Bachelor’s in Bible and Theology with a minor in Pastoral Ministries. I am currently attending Nazarene Theological Seminary to obtain a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.). I am also currently a licensed minister in the Church of the Nazarene, which is a denomination in the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition.
Hobbies and Interests
My hobbies include:
1. Reading
2. Bible Exposition
3. Church History
4. Theology
5. Apologetics
6. Preaching and Teaching
7. Enjoying Fellowship with Other Young Adults
I only listen to Christian music (except when I am with my fiancee in the car. She doesn’t listen to anything but Country). While I listen to a wide variety of Christian music, my primary concern is that they be doctrinally sound. That is, songs that do not accurately portray God (sorry, His love is not “reckless”) or give are easily confused with a modern love song should you remove the context are not going to make it into my library of music. I also especially enjoy hymns, but the same standards apply. More often than not, I listen to ambience, which is a series of sounds intended to set the tone as if the listener were in a particular setting. As an example, someone may play the sound of a fireplace crackling and wind howling to set the mood as though you, the listener, were by a fireplace on a cold, windy winter night.
I honestly do not watch TV regularly. I have a few favorite YouTube channels, including Mike Winger, various channels that post Audio Bibles, Dream’s minecraft channel, and Judge Rinder. Other than this, I do not watch much.
I love anything related to Theology, the Bible, Church history, or Biblical Languages and Latin. However, if I invest in a book, I expect the author to have some background and to have done some research in that area. For example, I want to read Church history from a church historian, not from an individual who read a book once and then published a 30-page Kindle book on the subject. If I am studying Church history, I want to read something by an individual like Jaroslav Pelikan. If I am reading theology, I want to read the work of someone with a Ph.D. or Th.D. in theology. I want to read books on pastoral care from pastors who have been in ministry for decades. I also regularly listen to audio books.
I dont normally watch movies.
